今度は柑橘果樹に。。。 Now on a citrus tree

なんか 調子の悪いすだちの木。水切れもしくは肥料切れかと思い、灌水と肥料を投入していたが相変わらず。

Been wondering why my Sudachi tree turned yellowish. Though it’d be lack of water or fertilizer but it hasn’t shown any improvement.

虫に根を食べたれているのではというアドバイスを聞いて、周りを掘ってみた。が、特におかしい様子はない。

ふと木が食害されているように見えたので、探ってみると、例のやつが出た。カミキリムシの幼虫。

Heard grubs would be eating roots so I dug around the tree but I had no clue. The trunk seemed damaged so I scratched its skin and the guy popped out. Kamikirimushi larvae!

土中から侵入した？もしくは単に木くずに気づかなかったか。ガリガリ引っ掻いていると表皮が脆いことに気づく。

I didn’t see any waste around the tree so I had no idea. It could’ve entered in the soil or I just missed it. I kept scratching and cleaning the rest.

ガリガリ表皮を削っていくともう一匹いた！

Then found another upper. Duuuhhh.

成っていた実も変色してるし、細い枝も死んでいるので、今のうちに早めの剪定をした。

来年は無理でもまた復活してくれるといいな。

Both fruits and branches looked bad so I pruned it already. Perhaps it won’t make it next year but hope it will come back later to n…..
