A Walk in Japan : Sakazu Park, Kurashiki City
How goes? It’s Mr. Wada back on duty! I’ve been a little down since I failed my first try of fishing. But we had a warm and nice afternoon last weekend that made me feel better. I and Mrs. Wada normally would hang out to cafe or somewhere and chill out. You know, there is no way we wouldn’t enjoy this great weather! So we decided to take a walk at Sakazu Park in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. You know, we need fresh air sometimes.

Parks in Japan
Parks in Japan aren’t as huge as ones in North America, though there are still nice parks even in cities like Okayama. OK, let’s see what we can find.
About Sakazu Park
500 Sakura trees and plenty of water from a reservoir nearby make Sakazu a beautiful park. In Spring it would be full of people for Hanami.

Access
It’s only a 5-minute drive from the Aeon Mall Kurashiki.

What a nice day!
Looks fun.
Cooling down.
People are having a picnic.
Anyhow they look hilarious.
Frog meeting.
…not in the mood?
OK, time to take a break.
Break Time
We got coffee with some snacks (Mitarashi-dango and Matcha cake) for our little picnic. Hehe.

Here is some reference for coffee to go.
Walk Around the Park
Alright, we’ll continue exploring.
A nice view with canal just outside the park.
A boat bench!
Walked along the canal and we found out where this water comes from. Let’s go and checkout it out.
Between the canal and the reservoir.
Over there is the reservoir. Water is coming from Takahashi River.
The other side is the canal.
Oh hey, check right down there. Students(?) are surfing with the stream from the water-gate! It literally is a free ride! Very clever.
Lastly
It’s sorta surprising to see views like these not far from the central of Kurashiki City.
A sign of Sakazu Bridge (not a tomb).
If you know good parks in your neighborhood, please share with me. Now I’m thinking that it would be nice to explore more parks before summer begins. Why don’t you have a walk in Japan during your stay? You may discover something new like I (still) do. See you around!
Yes. Looks like a nice park. I remember taking many nice walks during my trips to Japan. Many of the parks are wonderful indeed.
Cool! It’s a nice way to appreciate seasons as well.
Great post! Love your blog 🙂
