Apple Picking in Wake Town (Okayama)
It’s got 650 apple trees with 12 different breeds. Apple picking is usually available between late August and mid-November. As of 2021, reservations are required. Call in advance, refer to the information section for details. Tell your name at the reception and do the payment. The apple farm is just a minute walk from the reception. What breed is available varies by season. This time (mid-October) Yataka breed was ready to harvest. Look at it. Gorgeous, isn’t it?
Pick and take a bite. As of 2021, for hygiene etc, we need to bring our own knives for cutting. All we get at the reception is a bucket for throwing apple seeds etc and a plastic bag for carrying apples home (500yen/kg). We found some ripe Fuji and Orin breeds that should be good perhaps next month.
Juice and sweet!
Burp. Had a lot. Let’s call it a day.
