Guest House Hare in Shirahama (Wakayama)
We have stayed at several guest houses in the past such as Guest House Hitotomaru in Takeno (Hyogo). One big reason we use guest houses is they offer great deals and we have more chance to encounter something new.
Rooms & Rates
Rooms are tidy with enough privacy (also with a small fridge in each room). A common room is comfy for chatting with other guests (like we did). Our room requires coins for using AC (100 yen for 120 min) but that’s fair enough in summer and winter. Considering location, the rates are reasonable, I have to say.
Surroundings
It’s just a 10-minute walk to Shirahama’s popular Shirarahama Beach.
There are plenty numbers of local restaurants in the neighborhood as well as a supermarket called V Shop which we found neat. FYI, a Chinese restaurant we walked in took more than 60 minutes to serve our food. You may want to avoid it if you are in a rush. This Sanbashi shokudo (below) is quite reasonable. The thing is you just need to bear smoking. Anyway you have options.
