Onsaya Coffee in Okayama

Ohayo! It’s Mr. Wada back on duty. I would like to share our favorite cafe in Okayama called Onsaya Coffee.

Onsaya Coffee in Okayama

There are quite many private cafes in Okayama as I’ve previously introduced. Kissaten-style cafes (like Honky Tonk) are nice sometime but many have tendency to accept smoking, so I basically would refrain from these. Modern cafes like Montague, Honest Coffee are our liking. Come to think of it, we, the Wadas hang out to this cafe the most. One reason is one of the Onsaya stores (it has numbers of locations in Okayama) is located in Toiyacho which is our neighborhood. Of course its services are reasons as well.

Foods & Drinks

We usually get stuff from the showcase and drinks which it gives some discount. Waffles also are included for getting discount. Sweets in the showcase are mostly under 400 yen, so after discounted it’d be like 300 yen. Quite reasonable huh? If you like your drink very hot (default is NOT that hot for my standard), you should tell a barista that ‘Atsume de (onegai shimasu)’ = I would like it hot. My regular phrase.

It serves meals as well. We sometimes take sandwiches as light meals. It offers discount for meals as well.

Atmosphere

The store itself seems calm and neat. I like the jazz music they play. Kinda free style jazz, I think…(not sure)

Seats

We like to get window seats where cars and people pass by. Quite relaxing, I’d say. There’s an outlet at this seat, so we could bring our laptops and update the-wadas.com…(=v=)

Goods

Aside from coffee beans, it sells stuff like Onsaya tees as well. Great as gifts!

Lastly

How do you find it? Well, I am not so picky for cafes, but I do like atmosphere of Onsaya Coffee. It’s nor chickish or snobby type (if you know what I mean). It’s welcome to anyone. Onsaya Coffee has numbers of locations in Okayama as mentioned earlier. I would like to visit and share them some other time.

See you around!

If I go up to a barista after finishing my mocha and complain, in English, “I’m just not feelin’ it,” can I get a full refund?
