What is Tsukimi Anyways?

Hi there. It’s Mr. Wada back on duty. I would like to introduce Tsukimi this time.

What is Tsukimi?

Tsukimi (月見) literary means moon watching which is also called Chushu no Meigetsu in mid-September (harvest moon in English). It would likely to be with Japanese sweets like dango and tea. Ah yes, like we did at an Autumn music night.

Autumn Music Night in Hayashima, Okayama

Seeing Otsukimi burger available at McDonald notifies me that Autumn has come also.

There are less mosquito after summer and instead more Suzu-mushi (bell cricket) to makes a beautiful harmony out there. Would it be neat to open the window, watch the moon and hear the natural background music on an autumn night?

Lastly

How do you find it? I hope you will enjoy autumn in Japan.

See you around!
